Sugar Buns

Few things can beat the aroma of freshly baked buns in the kitchen. These soft and fluffy buns are filled with delicious vanilla cream and get an extra special finish by being brushed with butter and rolled in sugar and cardamom. Perfect for coffee, as a weekend treat, or whenever you want to indulge in something truly delightful.
Ingredients
- 470 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g sugar
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 1 egg (room temperature)
- 3 dl milk (lukewarm)
- 50 g butter (room temperature)
Instructions
- Add all the dry ingredients to a stand mixer.
- Add milk and egg, and knead for 10 minutes.
- Add the butter and knead for another 5 minutes.
- Let rise for 1 hour.
- Divide into 8 pieces. Shape into buns and flatten them slightly.
- Place about 1 tbsp of vanilla cream in the center of each bun and fold the edges over the filling, pinching them tightly to seal.
- Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 200°C for 14-15 minutes.
- Brush with butter and roll in sugar and cardamom.
Serve the buns warm, preferably with a cup of coffee or a glass of cold milk. They are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but can also be frozen and reheated later. A simple yet irresistible bake that is sure to become a favorite!
