Ingredients
- 900 g all-purpose flour
- 120 g sugar
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 6 dl milk (lukewarm)
- 150 g butter (room temperature)
- 1 egg
Filling
- 150 g butter
- 50 g sugar
- 1 tbsp cardamom
Topping
- Melted butter for brushing
- Sugar and cardamom (to taste)

Instructions
- Place all the dry ingredients in a stand mixer. Add the lukewarm milk and egg, and knead the dough for about 10 minutes.
- Add the room temperature butter and knead for another 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and shiny.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
- Transfer the dough to a floured countertop and roll it out into a rectangle. Mix the butter, sugar, and cardamom for the filling and spread it evenly over the dough. Roll the dough into a long log and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them proof for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in the middle of the oven at 225 °C for about 15 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
- Let the rolls cool slightly. Brush them with melted butter and dip them in a mixture of sugar and cardamom while they are still warm.
