Ingredients

  • 4 apples (500-600 g) (preferably tart ones like Granny Smith or Norwegian apples)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Crumb mixture
  • 60 g butter
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 6-8 slices of crumbs

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples and remove the core. Cut the apples into small pieces. Place the apple pieces in a saucepan along with 2 tbsp sugar, cinnamon, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, and let it simmer on low heat until the apples are tender and can be mashed. Mash the apples with a fork or an immersion blender, depending on how smooth you want the sauce. Let cool.
  2. Melt the butter in a frying pan. Crush the crumbs and add the crumb pieces to the butter along with 5 tbsp sugar. Cook over medium heat until the crumbs are golden and crispy. Let cool.
  3. Whip 3 dl of cream together with 1 tsp sugar and 1 tsp vanilla sugar until fluffy.
  4. Layer with apple sauce, crumb mixture, and cream. Finish with a sprinkle of crumbs.
