Ingredients

  • 580 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 dl powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking ammonia
  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • 1 egg (lightly beaten)
  • 75 g butter
  • 3 dl milk

Instructions

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients. Do not add all the flour at once; adjust as needed.
  2. Melt the butter and add the milk. The mixture should be lukewarm (37 degrees).
  3. Add the egg and mix everything together. Knead in a stand mixer for 10 minutes.
  4. Let rise for 2 hours.
  5. Divide the dough into 12 pieces and shape into round buns. Cut a cross on top of each bun.
  6. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Take a small piece of butter and place it in the center of each bun. Sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Bake on the middle rack at 225 °C for about 10 minutes.
