Cinnamon Rolls with Sugarish

Cinnamon Rolls with Sugarish

These cinnamon rolls with Sugarish are extra soft, juicy, and aromatic, with a perfect balance of sweetness, cinnamon, and a hint of cardamom and lemon. The dough is rich and airy, and the filling provides the classic flavor we love, just a bit more luxurious. Perfect for weekend treats, coffee visits, or whenever you want to bake something truly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g Sugarish
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Finely grated zest from ½ lemon
  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 3 dl lukewarm milk
  • 50 g butter, at room temperature

Filling

  • 70 g unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 50 g Sugarish Gold
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Mix together the butter, Sugarish Gold, and cinnamon until smooth and fluffy.

Instructions

  1. Place the all-purpose flour, Sugarish, cardamom, salt, lemon zest, and dry yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer.
  2. Add the lukewarm milk and egg, and knead the dough for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the butter in cubes and knead for another 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth, pliable, and elastic.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel, and let the dough rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and roll it out into a rectangle about 30 × 40 cm.
  6. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
  7. Cut the dough into 9 equally wide strips using a pizza cutter or knife.
  8. Roll each strip into a swirl and place them in a small baking dish lined with parchment paper.
  9. Cover and let them proof for about 30 minutes.
  10. Bake the cinnamon rolls in the middle of the oven at 220 °C, top and bottom heat, for 12–14 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly before topping.

Topping

  • A little melted butter
  • Sugarish
  • Cinnamon

Method

  1. Brush the warm cinnamon rolls with melted butter.
  2. Mix Sugarish and cinnamon to taste (3 tbsp Sugarish and 1 tsp cinnamon) and sprinkle over the rolls.

The result is freshly baked, golden brown cinnamon rolls with a soft center and delicious caramelized top. Let them cool slightly before serving, but they taste best while still warm. Serve with coffee, tea, or a glass of milk, and enjoy every single swirl!
