Ingredients
- 950 g finely sifted, stone-ground wheat flour
- 150 g sugar
- 2 tsp cardamom
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 150 g butter
- 6.5 dl milk
- 150 g raisins
- 100 g candied peel

Instructions
- Place all the dry ingredients in a stand mixer.
- Melt the butter and mix it with the milk. Allow the mixture to cool to lukewarm. Then pour it into the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients.
- Knead for 10 minutes.
- Add the raisins and candied peel towards the end of the kneading.
- Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Transfer the dough to a work surface and divide it into 2 equal pieces. Shape them into loaves and place them in two lined or greased loaf pans (1.5l).
- Cover them and let them rise for 30 minutes.
- Whisk together an egg and 1 tbsp milk and brush the loaves.
- Bake at 175°C on the second lowest rack for 40-50 minutes.
