Chocolate Yogurt Cake

Chocolate yogurt cake is a simple and delicious dessert that requires no baking. With a crunchy biscuit base and a soft, creamy chocolate filling, you get a perfect balance of sweet and fresh. This cake is quick to make and is great for everyday treats or when you want to impress guests with something tasty and homemade.

Ingredients

Base:

  • 130 g Digestive biscuits (or oat biscuits)
  • 60 g melted butter

Filling:

  • 200 g milk chocolate
  • 300 g Greek yogurt (plain, 10% gives the best creamy texture)

Instructions

  • Crush the biscuits finely and mix with the melted butter.
  • Line a pan with baking paper and press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan with a spoon.
  • Place in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.
  • Gently melt the milk chocolate in a water bath or microwave (short intervals, stirring in between).
  • Stir in the Greek yogurt (at room temperature) until smooth and creamy.
  • Allow the chocolate to cool to lukewarm (otherwise the yogurt may separate).
  • Spread the cream over the base and smooth the top.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, until it is firm enough to cut into nice pieces.

Once the cake has set in the refrigerator, it is ready to serve. It can be enjoyed as is, or topped with berries, grated chocolate, or a bit of cream for extra luxury. This is a recipe that is easy to succeed with and is sure to please both young and old.
