Energy Bars
Chewy Oat Bars with Raisins (British Flapjacks)

Soft and chewy oat bars with raisins. They are easy to make and perfect as a little snack or with a cup of coffee.
Ingredients
150 g butter
80 g golden syrup
230 g rolled oats
30 g all-purpose flour
1.5 dl sugar
1.5 dl raisins
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
1 tsp baking powder
0.5 tsp salt
Instructions
- Combine all the dry ingredients and the raisins in a mixing bowl, melt the butter and mix it in along with the rest of the ingredients, stirring well.
- Press the mixture into a baking paper-lined pan of about 20x20 cm.
- Bake in the middle of the oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Cool down. First on the counter, then in the refrigerator.
- Cut into suitable pieces.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Allow the flapjacks to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, if they last that long! They are perfect for lunchboxes, as hiking snacks, or with a cup of coffee when you're craving something sweet.
