- 100 g butter (room temperature)
- 100 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 50 g sour cream

- Peel the apples, remove the cores, and cut them into thin wedges. Set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease an 18 cm round cake pan, or line it with parchment paper.
- Whisk the butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a bowl.
- Add one egg at a time, mixing well between each addition.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and vanilla sugar.
- Sift the flour mixture into the batter, and gently fold it in with a spatula.
- Add the sour cream and stir until the batter is smooth and even.
- Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and smooth the surface.
- Arrange the apple wedges closely on top of the batter in a nice pattern.
- Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon evenly over the apple wedges.
